Wild Swans by Sarah Dennison

Wild Swans gives life to jazz-loving widow, Cybil, and her precocious teen neighbour, Rose. There is whiskey and Fresca and a dog named Bette Davis. There is unlikely friendship and high school love. There is one small town and one short summer. Plus a dog named Bette Davis. Both women are moving. Cybil packs her belongings and she does Not. Need. Help.

Written by local playwright Sarah Dennison and starring Newfoundland’s Berni Stapleton, this is a story of connections lost and made, songs skipped and repeated and what happens when the town’s “relapsed Catholic nut job” crosses paths with “Martha-from-BMO’s strange daughter with the weird eye.”

PLEASE NOTE: Wild Swans is a site-specific piece. All performances take place in a house. Arrive early to check out Rose’s CD collection and enjoy some refreshments in Cybil’s kitchen, before cozying in for the show.
